Vitamix Bliss

I recently became a proud owner of the bourgeoi-est blender out there, the Vitamix! I bought it off hautelook.com so I didn't pay $499.99 for it. Since then I have been searching online for good recipes from smoothies to soups to salsas to desserts. Here is my curated list of favorites:

Coconut Carrot Curry soup from:

Mango lassi: I use almond milk and honey instead of milk and sugar, no ice since my mango is frozen from Costco:

Tomato basil soup: I don't use cheese, cream or butter and it still comes out bomb.

Vegan alfredo sauce with brown rice pasta: I didn't put the avocado

Pesto Hummus
Can't find the recipe I used but it's basically: 1 can of chickpeas, 1/4 cup of pine nuts, lemon, fresh basil, garlic, avocado or olive oil

Happy New Year!

Happy new year to all my friendz. I got off work early yesterday and came home to make healthy pizza with cauliflower crust. It took more time since I didn't have a food processor, I had to cut the whole head of cauliflower up.  I even woke up and ate it for breakfast this morning. Surprisingly, I was able to stay up until midnight and blow horns and scare my daughter. I gave her a kiss first, and then my husband, and then my mother. Romantic.

I'm obsessed with Cassey Ho and blogilates as of late. I woke up and did her pilates yesterday. I'm sore to the core. This recipe was from one of her cheap clean eats videos.

Since I've been "reading" (listening to on book on tape) a lot of Deepak Chopra lately, I have been striving to find balance and lightness. I always thought new years resolutions were stoopid but I think writing down feasible wants and goals as a way of improving your life is way cool now. Damn I'm getting so old and lame. How did this happen?

Writing down your goals is important but more important is writing down HOW you are going to do these daunting tasks you have assigned yourself. You gotta have a plan (right MP)?

Anyhow, we were supposed to go to Universal Studios today since I have the day off but I have a lot of stuff to catch up with around the house that will make my life easier. We can always go Saturday. I don't really feel like going to a theme park then coming home and having to go to work tomorrow, it's better suited for a Saturday.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I would write it in Spanish but I don't know how to use the ~ character over a n  so if I write it I will be writing happy new anus. Not cool, unless that is what you strive for...

First comes baby, then comes marriage- The Mrs. Salinas tour

December 18th was our anniversary so we decided it would be a good day to get married. It had to be during the week because we wanted to get married by the court, no hoopla. Marriage was just the final step to our already bound for life relationship by our daughter born last year.

Of course the most important thing to me on this day was my costume. I purchased this Tarina Tarantino Hello Kitty bridal collection necklace on Ebay a couple of months ago.

Next, were my shoes. When I first laid eyes on them I asked my co-worker, "Would I look like Rihanna going to the court house to get married to Chris Brown for the 3rd time in these shoes?" I knew they had to be mine so my mom got me them for Xmas. They are BCBG.

Damn dees shoes are so hot. Had to wear my hair back because it is still recovering from a purple dye job I had done on it a month ago which faded in a week and left me with this.

The last thing to complete my vision was a tulle skirt. I had been watching videos on youtube for a while on how to make one and wanted to tackle it sooner or later (sewing isn't exactly a feasible hobby when you work full time and have a 1 year old at home) so it got put off until Tuesday night after work, the night before my wedding where I was standing at the "fabric counter" at Wal-Mart for 25 minutes waiting for an "associate" to come help me out and cut my 10 yards of tulle. As I was sewing it my boyfriend and mother were giving me weird looks and telling me I better have a back-up plan. I had no back-up plan. "Maybe you should try it on with a real shirt and not over your pajamas and a t-shirt" my boyfriend told me. I got too sleepy and had to finish it in the morning, just sewing the waistband on.

I loved the way it all came together. There was no lining in the skirt so I just threw on one of the old slips my mom gave me. My shirt was an old thrifted find with a black tank top underneath. My critics changed their mind and agreed it came out nice after all. "SJP wore black on her wedding day," I told my boyfriend.

"Why, because she had too much sex in the city?" he replied.

The last touch was something "borrowed" aka a vintage Gucci purse my neighbor had dropped off at my house weeks ago for me to sell online.

Looking back, I don't know why I took pics holding this thing, but oh well, I had to carry my ish somewhere.

I picked out an opal ring, my mom and grandma's birthstone.

The actual ceremony went by really fast but was still very exciting and emotional. The vows you exchange are very powerful and moving. I brought my niece along as my only witness. This was because we wanted it low key, just the 2 of us and to pay my mom back for going to Vegas and marrying my dad 30+ years ago. She stayed home, took care of my baby and probably cried the whole time.

Oh no she didn't! #tasteofherownmedicine

My maid of honor, photographer, witness and special niece

My handsome groom, no longer my baby daddy. My official husband by the state of California.

Whether, you spend thousands of dollars, or $150 dollars, in the end, the sentiment of love is all the same. It has no price.

I love you Ignacio and can't wait to lose 10 lbs and have more of your babies.

Like XoXo,

Mrs. Salinas
